Billy Fatzinger, LPC-A
he/him
I work to create a safe, supportive space where individuals can explore any thought or feeling, no matter how difficult. I believe that we are all different and that the counseling space should take a unique shape that supports the growth and thriving of each unique person who enters it. I am interested in helping individuals explore and find new channels of strength when confronting life’s most overwhelming problems. My practice is focused on anxiety, depression, issues of self-esteem, transitions and loss, finding meaning, and working through shame and self-criticism. My approach is trauma-informed and grounded in empathy, respect, and deep understanding. I feel strongly that you are the expert on your own experience. This is your journey through the dark forest. It is the counselor’s job to walk alongside and carry the lantern. If you’ve found yourself in the dark forest, reach out. I would be honored to walk alongside and help light the way.
I grew up in eastern Pennsylvania. I hold a bachelor’s degree in English Literature from Temple University and a master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the Seminary of the Southwest, and I worked for over 12 years as a graduate coordinator at UT Austin. I have extensive experience working with graduate students, international students, creative writers, and artists. I love art, reading, and listening to music while on long, long walks around Austin.
Billy is a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate, under the supervision of Dr. Stephanie Ramirez, LPC-S.
